Since the Christmas in the Philippines is mainly adapted from Western culture; Santa Claus, Christmas tree, Christmas card and Noche Buena are usually the icon, nevertheless there is still a Filipino touch.
The Philippines proclaims that their celebration of Christmas is the longest in the world. The celebration can be felt as early as the Ber months came in, by this time radio stations are starting to air Christmas songs and jingles. Filipino’s believes that this season is the most important celebration of the year; it is the time to give and share their blessings, the time when families are reunited, the chance to reconcile with your enemy and ultimately it is the season in which our Messiah was born, the savior of mankind.

Weather is the state of the atmosphere especially in the troposphere for a day to day temperature and precipitation activity, whether hot or cold, wet or dry, calm or stormy nor clear or cloudy. Common weather phenomena includes wind, cloud, rain, snow, fog and dust storms while the less common events includes natural disasters such as tornadoes, hurricanes, typhoons and ice storms.
While Mother Nature is believed to be the in charge of the system and flow of the elements in our environment, claims and attempts of weather modification is not new to human history. Mythical and religious activities to control the weather are practiced in different culture. Superstitious belief and practices like black magic and a human sacrifice were used to summon for the God’s to be able to control the weather. “The world is a dangerous place to live; not because of the people who are evil, but because of the people who don’t do anything about it” – Albert Einstein Four years have passed and yet the second deadliest killing of media practitioners in history that take away the life of 58 individuals, 32 of which are media practitioners, still cries for justice.

Korina Sanchez, a veteran radio and TV news presenter in the Philippines criticized Anderson Cooper, a CNN anchor and reporter in her radio program on DZMM after Cooper reported on government’s slow relief action to the survivors of typhoon Haiyan in Tacloban.
Sanchez said, : “Itong si Anderson Cooper, sabi wala daw government presence sa Tacloban. Mukhang hindi niya alam ang sinasabi niya.” Immediately, Sanchez commentaries became a hot topic on social media sites, something that Cooper was not about to slip by, Cooper on his part made a statement about the issue. The scenario look untouched, the extent of the catastrophe is rapidly increasing as the days passed by. Hungry and homeless people roam the once city now turned to ruins, corpse of humans and animals are of no difference strayed everywhere, no decent burials, no funeral parade. The rich and the poor were unidentified; everyone suffered the power of Typhoon Haiyan. The Visayas region was greatly devastated specifically Samar and Leyte provinces.
The Philippines headlined the whole world, local and foreign media‘s camera were positioned to typhoon Haiyan’s ground zero. News and commentaries about the cries from the hungry and homeless survivors was heartbreaking, it sounded not just the whole archipelago but the entire community around the world that make way for immediate relief and aid. Donations either goods or cash swamped, United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Japan and many other countries sent their Arm Forces, warships and helicopters as additional forces for fast recovery and action. At his bottom the water is anoxic and stagnant producing more bacteria, poisonous gases which arises from all the by-product of decaying and decomposed organic matters like unconsumed feeds, plant debris, and fish feces, that is the bottom backdrop that Noel Umbao see when he had dive three times in the Lake Buhi.
