It was actually my second time to visit Sorsogon aside from the thought that this province is rich in beautiful beaches, their very own Mt. Bulusan and butanding sighting but it was their hot springs and cold springs that keeps the travellers going.

It was almost a three-hour ride from Legazpi Central Terminal to reach the town proper of Irosin via bus. There are daily trips going to Bulan and it will pass at Irosin, the landmark that you must remember if you will be going to San Benon Hotspring is San Benon Elementary School.

The fare rate as of January 2015 is 148.00 pesos, Legazpi City to Irosin via Queen’s Express bus. From San Benon Elementary School you can ride a tricycle going to the resort proper for only 10.00 pesos.

The entrance fee is 40.00 pesos for adults and 25.00 for children you can also rent a cottage for only 130.00 pesos. You can choose from their three pools, Hot swimming Pool, Luke Warm Swimming Pool and Cold Pool.

The place is very well maintained, large tress from the cliff of the mountain stood still. It was just a very nice place to relax your mind and heart from the busy city life. A nice place to have a picnic with the family and friends during weekends and holidays.

The hot spring in the resort came from Mt. Bulusan. Soaking in a hot spring is a good therapy, natural hot springs like in San Benon have the capacity to balance and harmonize our body and mind. In some studies they have found out that soaking in a hot bath gives many of the health benefits of exercises with less strain on the heart. Soaking in hot springs increases the heart rate while it lowers the blood pressure than raising it as does other forms of exercise.

Hot Spring is extremely beneficial to those who suffer from arthritis. The buoyancy of the water relaxes the muscles, supports and reduces stress on the joints which encourages freer movement. The heat relaxes the muscles to increase their range in motion.

Soaking in hot springs have many health benefits but what more important is that San Benon Hot Spring is nature-given place, a gift from one of the most active volcano in the world. A nice place to visit and I must say it is very recommendable to those who wanted to unwind, relax, enjoy and find peacefulness in a quiet and secluded place.
