Everyday in news, there are new incidents of rape, murder, theft, child abuse, etc., and most of these cases were remained unsolved. All showed hatred and sadism by torturing their victims and showing no compassion or remorse. Does evil reside with the individual? Or is it a force which can be as powerful when applied to more than one person? For cases involving more than one individual, the fact that neither found the other’s deeds reprehensible enough to question is enough to make anyone wonder about the true nature of evil.

Evil arises among human being that causes sufferings in which life abounds. People are given freedom to do what is right and what is wrong. It is our free will or choice to do such thing. But sometimes or maybe should I say, most of the time, this so-called free will is abused. Knowing that it may lead to total destruction with oneself, and worst to other people, that may led to exercise evil actions.

Men and women who have become strangers to themselves can no longer return for sustenance to the springs of their own being. According to C. Wright Mills “The Promise”, what occurs in any one individual’s life is interrelated with society as a whole. The sociological imagination gives us the ability to understand the correlation of one’s biography, history, and traditions along with knowledge of the social and historical impact and influence society may have on that person or group of people. Mills’ notion compels us to investigate into an individual’s biography and lifestyles, and place their findings within the surrounding circumstances in which events occur in order to perceive the whole picture of the society in which the individual lives.

[Informative Essay]

Filipinos eat too much, not counting those who hardly eat at all and those who eat a great deal more than they should. Usually it is the wrong food in the right amounts, at other times it is the other way around and about.

One hearts of countries borrowing customs, laws, or traditions from another country. The Philippines borrowed its eating habits from three nations. The Spaniards cultivated the national taste for the rich and highly spiced foods which today still form the major part of our diet. Americans taught us to eat hot dogs, steaks, candies, and a few added fillings. The Chinese influence was even more marked. And the Japanese made us hunger for all three kinds. The Japanese can thank their starts that Filipinos have not asked them to pay food reparations for all the meals they missed during the occupation. On second thought I better not mention this at all.

[Narrative, Descriptive, and Aphoristic Essay]

Karma is a fundamental concept referring to acts, good or bad that result in correspondingly positive or negative fruits either in this or in a future life.It is not a punishment or retribution but simply an extended expression or consequence of natural acts.

Karma means deed or act and more broadly names the universal principle of cause and effect, action, and reaction that governs all life. The effects experienced are also able to be mitigated by actions and are not necessarily fated. That is to say, a particular action now is not binding to some particular, predetermined future experienced or reaction; it is not a simple, one-to-one correspondence of reward or punishment. Can I escape karma?

[EditorialEssay]

Euthanasia is one of the biggest controversies that people today are dealing with. It will not be wrong to say that euthanasia is responsible for the increase of death among people. Have you already heard about euthanasia?

It is universally condemned but some advocate its legalization based on humanitarian sentiments. In the Philippines there is no law dealing specifically with the matter but the general sentiment is that it is contrary to the principle that “no person has the right to end his own life; much less can he delegate such right to another”.In Netherlands, Oregon, Washington, Montana, California, Canada, and Britain, euthanasia is legal.
