Legazpi City, Albay ---The Bureau of Fire Protection is dedicated on enhancing environmental protection and creating a more business friendly environment.
BFP conducts seminars and trainings in different schools and public establishment in order for them to be aware on how to prevent this kind of calamity.
The goal of fire prevention is to educate the public to take precautions to prevent potentially harmful fires, and be educatedabout surviving them. It is a proactive method of reducing emergencies and the damage caused them.
In Legazpi City, the places which are prone to fire accident are Sabang, Pigcale, San Roque and other areas where houses are mostly crowded.
Fire safety refers to precautions that are taken to prevent or reduce the likelihood of a fire that may result in death, injury, or property damage, alert those in a structure to the presence of an uncontrollable fire in the event one occurs, better enable those threatened by a fire to survive, or to reduce the damage caused by a fire.
F/Insp. Sarena Socorro S. Tolarba stressed its station’s insufficiency in equipments along with its human resources.
“We have 6 fire trucks including 1 ambulance, but 1 of our fire trucks is under repair. And we just have 66 personnel, 9 of them undergoes in mandatory training”, Tolarba said.
