With the theme "Scouters: Help Save Mother Earth” , 7,000 locals from the different Boy Scout of the Philippines councils and foreign delegates from Japan, South Korea, Cambodia, Vietnam , France, Belgium, Croatia, US and Thailand attended the Scout for Environment International Jamboree held at Kawa-kawa Park, Ligao City last August 21-25, 2013. Many experts were invited to lecture on topics related to climate change adaptation and environmental protection. The scouts were expected to open their awareness on how to handle and face the challenges of our changing world.
Garnering an average score of 88.11%, Sheena Joy Alicante, a 2nd year AB Journalism student of Bicol University, College of Arts and Letters tops against the 13 contingents from different schools and universities around the region during the 2nd ABS-CBN Newscasting Competition held at Avenue Plaza Hotel, Naga City.
With the theme 'Campus Press Perspective on Freedom of Information, Rayterista a bi annual event hosted by The Bicol Universitarian, The Official Student Publication of Bicol University was participated by the different Bicol University's College based publication. Renowned media practitioners give their inspirational words and experiences to the campus journalists who participated.
